Roberto De Zerbi wants Tottenham's terrible record at Chelsea to inspire his side ahead of tonight's London Derby at Stamford Bridge.

Spurs cross the capital to take on Chelsea, aiming to build on a first win of the Premier League campaign earlier this week.

The North Londoners head to a venue that has yielded little success in the Premier League era. Spurs have won just one of their last 34 matches against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a 3-1 win in 2018.

De Zerbi's side also have a wretched recent record against Chelsea overall, losing the last six meetings and winning once in 14 derby clashes.

However, the Italian said he wants his side to use their poor record against the Blues as 'more motivation' ahead of the capital clash.

“I think it’s not just this negative record, there are many, many negative records but for me it’s one motivation more and for the players," De Zerbi said at his pre-game press conference.

"I want this negative record to give us more motivation and more mentality, more energy to win a game and play a good game because we have enough qualities to win this game.

“It’s against one very good team, very good coach and they have a clear style of play with great players. But also the Tottenham players are very good, the level of the players is high. We have to show together as a team as well as individuals."
