Crystal Palace boss Sage expects Disasi to be available for weekend after missing Hoffenheim draw due to ‘internal decision’

Crystal Palace boss Pierre Sage says Axel Disasi’s absence from the squad against Hoffenheim was an “internal decision” but expects the defender to be available this weekend against Liverpool.

Disasi was not involved in Palace’s 1-1 Europa League draw draw, with Sage declining to elaborate on the reason behind his omission.

“It’s an internal decision,” Sage said. “I don’t want to comment more.

“Sorry for that because you know I always reply but I don’t want to comment.”

Asked whether Disasi would be available for the weekend, Sage told TNT Sports: “For the weekend, yes.”

Sage was also pleased with the character shown by his side to earn a point against Hoffenheim, thanks to Daichi Kamada’s stoppage-time equaliser.

“I think it could be better if we scored before but I know Dean Henderson also kept us in the game with his saves,” he said.

“I like the energy of the team and to never give up until the end, the last minute.”
