It’s matchday, Gooners, and Mikel Arteta has named his Arsenal team to face Everton at the Emirates this afternoon. Kick-off is at 3pm, and with Manchester City setting the pace, we really cannot afford to let points slip at home. As I write, Aston Villa 1-1 Man City – could this be the day the Cityzens lose points? And can Arsenal take full advantage?

After a demanding week, today feels like a test of squad depth as much as form.

The biggest talking point is, of course, Bukayo Saka. Our influential winger was forced off early against Bayern Munich with a quad injury, and reports that he could be sidelined for up to eight weeks have raised concerns about how Arsenal will cope without him.

Whatever his eventual recovery timetable, we have to find a way to keep winning.

From Munich to the Emirates: Time to Deliver Again!

Arsenal returned from Germany with a valuable point after Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice scored in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich, showing the fighting spirit we’ve come to expect from this side.

But it’s back to Premier League business now, and David Moyes certainly won’t make life easy for us.

Everton arrive unbeaten away from home this season, although all three of their league trips have ended in draws. They’ll be organised, physical and determined to frustrate Arsenal.

We saw against Nottingham Forest how long it can take us to find a breakthrough. Hopefully, we won’t need another late rescue act this afternoon!

The Gunners are chasing a seventh consecutive home victory, and with the Emirates crowd behind them, let’s hope for a positive performance and another three points.
