Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Preview, Prediction & Lineups
Arsenal are set to face familiar foes Bayern Munich when they travel to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
The Gunners were made to work for three points once again as they overcame Nottingham Forest 1-0 last time out. It was Noni Madueke who grabbed the winner at the City Ground when he cut in from the left flank to fire an effort at goal, beating Matz Sels courtesy of a deflection.
Bayern cruised to a 6-1 victory over RB Leipzig in their previous test with Luis Díaz grabbing a hat-trick and Aleksandar Pavlović, Michael Olise and Harry Kane also getting on the scoresheet ahead of a consolation goal by Andrija Maksimović in stoppage time.
With this being a European test that has plagued Arsenal up until last season's league phase meeting, Mikel Arteta will be hoping his side can send a statement with a win while Bayern will be looking to bounce back from last week's setback against Viking.
Here's our preview of the Gunners' trip to Bayern.

Bayern Munich team news
Vincent Kompany will have to lead his side into action without star man Michael Olise, who is set to serve a one-match suspension, after being sent off against Viking. Lennart Karl is expected to stand in for the France international and will be hoping to find the back of the net, having done so against Arsenal last season.
Kim Min-jae is a potential absentee after being substituted with an unknown injury against Leipzig while Jamal Musiala will also miss out due to a thigh issue. Manuel Neuer missed the weekend's thumping, but is expected to return between the sticks tomorrow.
Harry Kane will no doubt start against a side he has loved scoring against over the years, but will have a task to find the back of the net this time, having failing to do so in his last encounters with Arsenal.
Predicted Bayern Munich lineup vs Arsenal: Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Davies; Pavlovic, Kimmich; Karl, Saibari, Diaz; Kane
Arsenal team news
Mikel Arteta will have decisions to make as he faces no fresh injury or disciplinary concerns, but instead has to shake things up after the dull performance at Forest.
Noni Madueke is likely to take Eberechi Eze's place on the left wing after replacing him midway through Sunday's win while Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly should join him in returning to the starting lineup.
Martín Zubimendi returned from injury to sit on the bench at the City Ground and may be given some minutes in Munich, but the same can't be said for Piero Hincapié, Christos Tzolis and William Saliba, all of whom remain absent with respective injuries.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Bayern Munich: Raya; Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Ødegaard, Lewis-Skelly, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Madueke
Bayern Munich vs Arsenal score prediction
The Allianz Arena has hardly been a successful destination for Arsenal to visit, having won just once in seven trips to Munich, but they will fancy their chances of snatching something this time round.
Bayern fans don't seem overly confident about their hopes of beating the Gunners, especially without Michael Olise, and having hit a small bump in the road ahead of their win over Leipzig, but they will still be a huge threat.
Arteta's side should be able to give their hosts a good game with their defence likely being able to keep the deadly attack of Bayern out for much of the game, but the Bundesliga giants might just have too much for Arsenal to deal with, especially in their own backyard, and will sneak a slender win.
Prediction: Bayern Munich 1-0 Arsenal
