Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Cristian Romero will leave Tottenham this summer, with Barcelona and Inter Milan both in the mix for the centre-back.

Romero's exit from Spurs has been the worst-kept secret in football of late. His desire to exit was evident when he planned to be in Argentina to watch his boyhood club on the final day of the season, when Tottenham could have been relegated from the Premier League.

They have signed Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke at centre-back, evidently planning for a future without Romero.

And transfer insider Romano has confirmed that the Argentine will be leaving Spurs this summer.

He wrote: 'EXCLUSIVE: Cuti Romero to leave Tottenham this summer, Inter held talks with Spurs over recent days.

'Romero has been offered as option during talks for Djed Spence. Inter keen but costs very high. Barça also like Cuti Romero.'

The decision has been made by both parties in regards to the defender's exit, per Romano, and Inter have been made aware that he can leave.

Spence talks ongoing

Inter have also been in talks over a move for full-back Spence, who it's believed has been told he is not going to be part of Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi's long-term plans.

As a result, it's been said Spence is open to a move to the Serie A giants, despite the fact there are English clubs tracking him.

TEAMtalk have revealed that Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle all have eyes on the Spurs man for the summer.

Romano has given an update on the future of Spence in regards to Inter's interest, stating they remain in talks for him, as he's their top right wing-back target.

Tottenham's valuation is said to be higher than expected, but the Italian club remain locked into talks.

Some outlets have suggested it would cost £40million for the defender's transfer, though former Spurs scout Bryan King feels he should cost more.

He said: "You wouldn’t even start thinking about letting him go for under £50m. We’re talking about a young, current England international. It’s a situation where Tottenham would be stupid to let him go."

It remains to be seen what price Inter would pay not only for Spence, but also for Romero, and if they'd be able to finance moves for both Tottenham defenders.
