Aston Villa vs Fulham injury news as 4 ruled out and 1 doubt
Aston Villa now turn their attention back to the Premier League after their bruising Carabao Cup defeat to AFC Bournemouth during the week. Unai Emery's men conceded three and struggled for the first time in a good few weeks.
Villa have been in superb form of late, Emery's men had won six of their last seven before that game, and they will want to get back to their best here against a struggling Fulham side.
Emery said after that defeat: "This is a match we have lost, but I can't tell my players anything because I think they made an effort and they played the plan we set up. Bournemouth played well and played intensely, they deserved to win.
"We must move on now and try to think about our next challenge on Saturday which is Fulham at home before the Champions League next Tuesday."
The Cottagers have had a poor start to the season, but they have won their last two Premier League games to provide some relief. Arbeloa's men did lose in the Carabao Cup during the week, but they will be relieved to have moved out of the relegation zone over the last couple of weeks.
Arbeloa certainly will be, with pressure already ramping up on him early in his time at the club. Villa are four points off the top four coming into this one, and they will know the importance of keeping up their winning form after their struggles early on.
Here we round up the latest injury news surrounding both sides coming into this one.
Ryan Sessegnon - Out (Suspended)
Sessegnon will miss this game through suspension.
Emile Smith Rowe - Doubt
Alváro Arbeloa has said: "Emile had some issues after the last training session last Friday, but yesterday he completed all training sessions, so I think he will be available, but we will see later."
Amadou Onana - Out
Onana is out for the season but is said to be 'progressing well', according to Emery.
Matteo Ruggeri - Out
Ruggeri is going to be out for a little while due to a hamstring issue. Emery confirmed recently: "We don’t know exactly how long it’s going to be, but it will be some weeks that he’s going to be out, more than one month." It's likely Ruggeri will return in late November or early December.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Out
Wan-Bissaka is out until after the international break with a hamstring injury.
