Arsenal vs Hull City injury news as 9 ruled out and 2 doubts
Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they take on newly promoted Hull City at home. The Gunners narrowly defeated Sparta Prague in the Champions League during the week, winning 2-1.
In the league, Arsenal are now three points clear of Manchester City at the top, and they will want to press home that advantage here. As for Hull, despite a number of injury issues, they are sat in mid-table after a fine start to the season, and they have only lost twice in the Premier League so far.
Here we round up the latest injury news surrounding both sides.
Eliot Matazo - Out
Metazo is dealing with a ruptured ACL and won't be back until around February.
Matt Targett - Out
Targett is going to be out until some time in December due to an ankle issue. Sergej Jakirovic said a couple of weeks ago: "This is not a small injury, and he did do this by himself. He twisted the ankle, without contact, without anything. Now he has to stay positive, do his rehab, and we will see."
Lucas Gourna-Douath - Out
Gourna-Douath is going to remain out with a calf issue until after the international break.
Ilyas Ansah - Out
Ansah is also going to remain out. Jakirovic said a couple of weeks ago: "Today, he was having a scan, and then after this scan, after an opinion, we will see if maybe he will start to run next week. That is a positive, yes, because he hasn't run since 1st September. He's just in the gym, on the bicycle, just doing what he can do."
Darko Gyabi - Out
Jakirovic has said: "Darko is with us; he's training with us. He's not registered at least until the winter [transfer window], and between now and then, we will try to improve his physical condition."
Charlie Hughes - Out
Hughes is going to remain out until after the break. Jakirovic said last week: "Charlie is good, he trained yesterday with us, miracle! Yes, he is good, no reaction, so everything is good. When he is more ready, he will be used in the Under-21s. We will see [on a RTP timeframe], we are going day by day."
Matt Crooks - Out (Suspended)
Crooks is out due to reaching the five yellow card limit.
Jack Butland - Doubt
Butland is close to returning from his elbow issue and could well return here.
Bukayo Saka - Out
Saka is out until after the international break due to a hamstring issue. Arteta said last week: "As I said, he needs another scan to see how the amount of fluid that was there was resolving - whether the tendon is touched and how badly it is touched. Afterwards, we know more. It looks like [he could miss out for England], but we have to wait and see next week."
Max Dowman - Out (Suspended)
Dowman is serving his suspension due to a red card in the Fleetwood game.
Ezri Konsa - Doubt
Konsa is dealing with an overload. Arteta has said: "He’s played a lot, so many games in the last few weeks, and he had some issues, and we decided to take him off."
