Arsenal vs Everton injury news as 3 ruled out and 1 doubt
Arsenal are back in action on Saturday when they face Everton away from home in the Premier League. The Gunners managed to secure an impressive point away to Bayern Munich in the Champions League during the week, coming from behind.
But there was a black mark on the draw due to the loss of Bukayo Saka to a muscular injury that will leave Arsenal even shorter out wide, keeping in mind they are already lacking in depth on the wings.
Arsenal head into this clash with Everton still chasing Manchester City, albeit with the knowledge a points deduction is likely for the leaders. As for the Toffees, they are currently in eighth place after a solid start to the season, and they have only conceded seven goals in as many games.
Ahead of this one, we have rounded up all the latest injuries surrounding both teams, but Everton do not have any issues currently.
Bukayo Saka - Out
Saka is going to be out for around a month, barring surprises, after going off injured against Bayern Munich. Arteta confirmed afterwards: "It’s his quad. It was early in the game, and the level of intensity his game requires is something incredible. The quality, strength and attention you need has to be at the highest level, and those things happen, unfortunately. It doesn’t look good at all, but we have to wait and see."
William Saliba - Out
Saliba is working his way back from his lower back surgery and is getting closer, but it will likely be at least another couple of weeks. Arteta said last week: "I think next week we have another MRI with him to see how the healing process is at the moment. But every sign so far has been very, very positive, and yeah, it will be great to have him."
Christos Tzolis - Out
Tzolis is hoping to return from his hamstring injury in the next week or so, but he will be out here. Arteta said last week: "Again, doing really well. Yesterday, he had another MRI scan to see how the injury is evolving. It's progressing really well. Another one that, hopefully, we can have back in a few weeks."
Piero Hincapie - Doubt
Arteta said this week: "And Piero, let’s see if he’s able to train in the next few days as well, he can be available for Everton, which is great news."
