Arsenal stars nearing returns in boost for Arteta
Mikel Arteta has provided a positive injury update on Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Nottingham Forest.
Hincapie is continuing to make good progress in his recovery, with Arteta hopeful the defender could return within the next couple of weeks after suffering an ankle injury.
“Piero is evolving really well as well,” Arteta said.
“Knowing his character and the way he pushes everybody, it’s not going to take long I don’t think, probably another week or two.”
There was also encouragement over Zubimendi, who is improving and will be assessed again ahead of the game against Forest with a view to be involved.
“Zubi is doing much better,” Arteta said.
“We have another session tomorrow, let’s see how he evolves.”
Arteta also confirmed Christos Tzolis and William Saliba are making positive progress and are set for further scans to assess their respective recoveries.
The Gunners boss added that he hopes to have Tzolis back within the next few weeks.
