Arsenal 'among frontrunners' for star striker Nicolo Tresoldi but 'half of Europe' seduced

Arsenal are said to be 'among the frontrunners' to land Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, who has 'half of Europe' seduced amid a period of stunning form.
The Gunners have been looking for a top striker since the start of the summer. They mainly courted Julian Alvarez, but his desires to head to Barcelona meant he didn't give much thought to Arsenal.
The second-placed Premier League side look eager to improve up top in January, after they failed to do so in the summer.
Tuttosport reports Club Brugge striker Tresoldi is firmly on their radar, with the Gunners 'among the frontrunners' for his signing.
The striker has four goals in the Belgian Pro League this season and four in the Champions League.
It's his returns in Europe which are rousing sides, as it's now said 'half of Europe has been seduced' by the 22-year-old.
After opening his Champions League account for the season with a penalty goal in the 3-2 loss against Aston Villa, the German under-21 put together a stunning display against Inter Milan, bagging a hat-trick as his side won 4-3.
His stunning form has not only club sides interested, but nations, too.
Currently playing for Germany's under-21 side, Tresoldi also qualifies for Italy, and it's said Jurgen Klopp and Roberto Mancini have been courting him to play international football in their sides for weeks.
But he has a goal in mind first, stating: "I want to win the Under-21 European Championship with Germany. Only after this tournament will I decide which senior national team to play for."
Arsenal should show caution with Nicolo Tresoldi
Tresoldi is the man of the moment, but Arsenal have been burned by signing a top striker from a lesser league previously.
They signed Viktor Gyokeres last summer after he'd netted 54 goals in a single season for Sporting CP.
The Swede has fallen out of favour in his second season at the Emirates, having not come close to the remarkable tally he achieved in Portugal, and there's major speculation about his exit from Arsenal.
While Tresoldi has a good bank of experience behind him in Belgium, and has 16 goals in 27 German under-21 games, that's not a guarantee he can replicate his form in the Premier League.
Even his Champions League returns don't prove he'd be a top asset for Arsenal. Gyokeres had scored six goals in eight games in the elite European competition the season prior to heading to the Emirates - including a hat-trick against Manchester City.
Two years later and he's played fewer than 500 minutes for the Gunners across all competitions this season.
