Liverpool have a lot of changes that they need to make to their squad over the next few months.

By June 2027, a decent chunk of their first-team will be out of contract and, while some deals may end up being renegotiated, thus extending their stays, there are no talks going off between Liverpool and any of their players at the moment.

Obviously, this could change by the time the January transfer window comes around as, by then, any players with six months left on their contracts will be able to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer.

So, before that happens, some deals may need to be ironed out so that the Reds can get ahead of their rivals in the transfer market.

And, fortunately for Liverpool's fanbase, Andoni Iraola and Julian Ward both seem to have found a player that they'd like to bring in.

Liverpool have been contacted about the transfer of Alejandro Balde

Nmamdi Collins is going to be one of the most talked about players in football ahead of the January transfer window.

The defender is only 22 years old but, he's become one of Eintracht Frankfurt's most important players.

Collins has featured in 69 games for the Bundesliga outfit over the last few years and, whether he's been used as a centre-back or a right-back, he's always found a way to stand out from the crowd.

Obviously, due to his importance to Frankfurt, they're rather reluctant to sell but, as per a fresh update from Fussball News, that hasn't stopped Liverpool from showing an interest in him.

"According to information from fussball-news.de, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all seriously interested in the Frankfurt defender. All three Premier League clubs are monitoring his development and regularly scout the young German international," they wrote.

"A departure from Frankfurt in the near future doesn't seem likely. The club from Hesse is planning for the long term with Collins and only recently secured his services with a contract extension until the summer of 2030.

"Nevertheless, the defender could become an interesting prospect in the upcoming transfer windows.

"Collins' versatility is a major draw for top English clubs. The right-footed player can be deployed both in central defense and on the right side of defense.

"In addition, he possesses exceptional speed, physical presence, and tackling skills. Collins can particularly exploit his athletic strengths against fast attacking players."

Nmamdi Collins could be exactly who Liverpool need to sign

Collins is probably a player that most fans won't have heard of.

But, the fact that he can play as a centre-back or a right-back perfectly well despite only being 22 years old is a massive achievement.

During his time with Frankfurt, the youngster has contributed to five goals across all competitions and, while this may not seem all that impressive, when he's played 30 of his 69 games with the Bundesliga outfit as a centre-back, it shows how prolific he can be.

Obviously, thanks to his importance to Frankfurt, a deal wouldn't come cheap but, since he's never really been tested outside of Germany, there's also an element of risk within the deal that needs to be taken into consideration.

At the moment, these are just rumours but, with how many players Liverpool still need to sign, bringing some lesser-known players such as Collins through the Anfield doors could be the best way for them to bolster their ranks.
