Mohamed Salah still hasn't been properly replaced at Liverpool.

The attacker mutually agreed to terminate his contract at the end of last season and, even though the Reds didn't get any sort of transfer fee for him, they did manage to save around £20 million on his years worth of wages.

If he'd have stayed, the Egyptian King would only have a year left on his deal anyway and, with the way that Andoni Iraola's system works, it's unclear how things would have turned out for him.

Indeed, others such as Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz were added to Liverpool's ranks but, since they're both natural left-wingers rather than right-wingers, there's still a gap in the Reds' first-team squad that needs to be plugged.

So, the fact that Iraola now seems to have chosen his very own version of Salah should be music to the ears of Liverpool fans.

David Otorbi could become Liverpool's next Mohamed Salah

Recently, news has broken which shared that Liverpool were willing to activate the €30 million release clause that was baked within David Otorbi's Valencia contract.

The Spaniard has recently broken onto the La Liga scene and, although he has managed to contribute to many goals yet, his performances have caught the eye of Liverpool.

Not only is he one of Valencia's fastest players but, he's also one of their best despite only being 19 years old.

Several other clubs from around the world have been linked with an interest in him but, since he's a natural right-winger and is currently looking for his big break, it feels like he could become the Reds' next Salah.

Indeed, he is right-footed so he won't be an exact carbon copy but, playstyle wise, Otorbi looks like the perfect successor.

Liverpool must make their move for David Otorbi soon if they want to sign him

Liverpool's interest in Otorbi has only just emerged.

The Spaniard wasn't on the radar of any other clubs with Liverpool being one of the first teams linked with an actual interest in him.

But, now that Valencia look likely to extend his deal and bump his release clause up to €60 million, the Reds are going to have to act fast if they want to sign him.

Knowing the La Liga outfit, they'll try and hold out for the €60 million clause but, if they have another terrible season, as they did last term, they may not have that option to rely upon by the end of the term.

At the moment, Liverpool's attack seems to be in a fairly solid place with some such as Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak and even Bradley Barcola now getting back to their best.

But, if Iraola and Julian Ward want to best prepare their attack for the future, Otorbi could be the best way for them to do that.
