  • Arsenal have yet to concede a goal this season

  • Aston Villa are winless in five matches against Crystal Palace

  • Newcastle won all six games against promoted sides last season

With two weeks of Premier League action in the books, Week 3 features a fixture that could define the season, as champions Liverpool host last season’s runners-up Arsenal, who will be desperate to go one better this term.

Manchester United will be searching for their first win of the campaign when they face newly promoted Burnley, but confidence is low after a penalty-shootout defeat to League Two side Grimsby in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Tottenham, who remain unbeaten following last week's win over Manchester City, welcome Bournemouth to north London. The Cherries, who gave Liverpool a scare on the opening night, bounced back with victory over Wolves.

Oliver Barnard has correct-score picks for all 10 Premier League matches this weekend.

Chelsea vs Fulham (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Round three begins with a west London derby and Chelsea can be expected to edge out their rivals. The Blues prevailed 2-1 in their last meeting, and while Fulham won the reverse fixture by the same scoreline, a repeat for the Blues looks likely after their 5-1 romp over West Ham.

Score prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Fulham

Manchester United vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

Burnley will hope to capitalise on United’s uncertain start under Ruben Amorim, but the hosts should still have enough quality to get off the mark and earn a much-needed win.

Score prediction: Manchester United 3-1 Burnley

Sunderland vs Brentford (Saturday, 3pm)

Sunderland are likely to rely heavily on their home form this season and their opening win over West Ham was encouraging. Brentford, though, suffered just seven road defeats last season, and a share of the spoils could be on the cards.

Score prediction: Sunderland 1-1 Brentford

Tottenham vs Bournemouth (Saturday, 3pm)

Tottenham have made an impressive start, winning both matches by an aggregate of 5-0. Antoine Semenyo has been Bournemouth’s standout performer with two goals and an assist and could help the Cherries make their mark, but Spurs should maintain their perfect record.

Score prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Bournemouth

Wolves vs Everton (Saturday, 3pm)

Jack Grealish impressed on his first start for Everton last weekend and could inspire them to a first away win of the campaign. Wolves have struggled defensively, conceding seven goals in all competitions.

Score prediction: Wolves 1-2 Everton

Leeds vs Newcastle (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Leeds will be looking to respond after being thumped 5-0 by Arsenal and can take advantage of their home atmosphere and a depleted Newcastle side. The Magpies are without Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon, whilst Fabian Schar, Joelinton and Sandro Tonali are all doubts after picking up knocks against Liverpool.

Score prediction: Leeds 1-0 Newcastle

Brighton vs Manchester City (Sunday, 2pm)

Goals are usually guaranteed when these two meet, with over 2.5 scored in eight of the last nine clashes. Manchester City should bounce back from their defeat to Tottenham, especially with Rodri potentially returning to the starting XI.

Score prediction: Brighton 1-3 Manchester City

Nottingham Forest vs West Ham (Sunday, 2pm)

West Ham’s early-season struggles could continue at the City Ground, where Nottingham Forest are targeting a fourth straight win over the Hammers. Forest kept the joint-most clean sheets in the league last term and can shut out Graham Potter’s men again.

Score prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-0 West Ham

Liverpool vs Arsenal (Sunday, 4.30pm)

Arsenal face a huge test of their title credentials at Anfield and will be encouraged by Liverpool’s defensive frailties. With both sides eager not to concede early ground, a tight contest is likely, but the Gunners could prevail.

Score prediction: Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace (Monday, 8pm)

Villa’s have a superb home record, although they have not relished this fixture. Palace are unbeaten in five against Unai Emery's men, who have not looked at their best in the early stages of the campaign. A draw looks a likely outcome.

Score prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Crystal Palace
