Alex Scott has rejected the offer of a new contract from Bournemouth, with the Cherries' stance on his future made clear by Sky Sports.

Scott's reputation has been growing of late. The midfielder put in some superb performances last season, and was rewarded with a spot in England's pre-World Cup squad.

Sky Sports report the Bournemouth man has been sent a number of new contract offers by his club since the back end of last season, and Scott has rejected the latest of them.

His current deal expires in 2028, but the main fear is interest from other clubs, with Arsenal, Manchester Unitd and Chelsea all said to be showing strong interest in the midfielder.

Bournemouth don't want to sell and have knocked back offers from the big-six trio, and they expect Scott to remain their player next season.

But for now, the 22-year-old is not prepared to pen new terms.

Scott valued massively at Bournemouth

TEAMtalk are another outlet to cover the Scott news, and they suggest Bournemouth are hopeful of fresh talks taking place in the future.

It's also suggested the rapidly-inflating market, particularly for midfielders, will push Scott's price up.

Englishmen Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers are both the subject of huge deals - £116m and £117m this summer - and that means Scott's price tag won't be much lower.

It's reported Bournemouth would not be seeking to make those sorts of figures, but there's a belief Scott's value is edging towards nine figures.

The Cherries are hopeful that stance ensures any club hoping to land the star midfielder this summer are unable to do so.

If they are to keep Scott, he'll play under new manager Marco Rose this season, and Bournemouth are hoping he's not the only star the new boss has in his squad this summer.

Indeed, they also want to keep hold of Eli Junior Kroupi and Rayan, both of whom had good success last season.

They, too, are linked with big clubs, with Tottenham hopeful of signing Kroupi, while Liverpool have been linked with Rayan.
