FC Koln vs Hoffenheim - 2:30 pm (Bundesliga)

Koln have been installed as underdogs ahead of their tussle with highflying Hoffenheim on Saturday, though Die Geißböcke have scored at least once in 100% of their last seven assignments in the Bundesliga despite some patchy results. That record suggests Hoffenheim will need to notch more than once to win at the RheinEnergieStadion.

Christian Ilzer’s side know how to cut through defences, however. Hoffenheim have been scoring an average of 2.13 goals per league game this term, while 68% of their Bundesliga matches since August have seen over 2.5 goals. Their fixtures since the end of the winter break have been averaging an even loftier 3.71 goals per 90 minutes, so expect more excitement here.

Aston Villa vs Leeds – 15:00 (Premier League)

Leeds continue to play without fear under Daniel Farke and their willingness to go toe-to-toe with every opponent, helped them to come from two goals down to earn a point at Chelsea (2-2) in their last league fixture.

Indeed, since November, Leeds have posted a string of competitive performances against some of the division's leading lights, including Man City (2-3), Chelsea (3-1, 2-2), Liverpool (3-3) and Newcastle (3-4), which suggests they can test Unai Emery’s Villans at Villa Park. Expect the teams to trade blows in the Midlands.

Club Brugge vs OH Leuven – 17:15 pm (First Division A)

Club Brugge showcased their ability to play aesthetically pleasing attacking football in midweek when they drew 3-3 with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Playoffs. That was their fourth home game on the spin where they rattled the net at least three times.

Indeed, goals are usually guaranteed with the ticket at the Jan Breydel Stadium, where matches have been averaging a searing 4.1 goals in all competitions. Club Brugge have also scored three goals in two of their last three meetings with OH Leuven at that venue, and more goalmouth action is anticipated when the sides reacquaint themselves on Saturday.

PSV vs Heerenveen – 17:45 pm (Eredivisie)

PSV are a massive 14 points clear of their nearest rivals at the summit of the Eredivisie and their +39-goal difference is 18 better than their closest chasers. In short, the champions elect have too much firepower for the Dutch top tier, and 83% of their games in the league this season have produced over 2.5 goals as a result.

Heerenveen are the next club in the firing line when they visit Eindhoven on Saturday. They lost 4-1 at PSV when they travelled to take on the champs in the KNVB Cup earlier this month (2 Feb), and they could be torn to shreds in similar style when they make the return trip this weekend.

Atletico Madrid vs Espanyol – 20:00 pm (La Liga)

Atletico Madrid will be eager to avenge August’s 2-1 loss to Espanyol when the teams contest Saturday’s return fixture in the capital and Diego Simeone’s outfit should have defensive weaknesses to target as they aim to get their own back on their early-season conquerors.

Espanyol’s defending has been alarmingly lacklustre of late, so you’d fear for them ahead of their trek to face Atletico. Espanyol are in the midst of a seven-game winless run and they conceded at least twice in six of those games. They were hammered 4-1 in their last away assignment at Villarreal and could be similarly swatted aside here.
