Watch: New Baresi mural unveiled at Casa Milan after shameful vandalism

A new mural has been unveiled at Casa Milan in memory of the late Franco Baresi, following shameful vandalism of the previous mural.

It was about two weeks ago that Milan fans, and football fans in general, woke up to heartbreaking images and videos of the Baresi mural at Casa Milan. It had been vandalised, with paint covering his face and other details.

Milan immediately said that they were working to find those responsible and support was flooding in on social media, with virtually everyone condemning the actions. And earlier this week, it was confirmed that a new mural would be created.

Wonderful mural for Baresi

This morning, the first images and videos of the mural emerged on social media. It’s a different design than the previous one, much bigger and with more adjectives explaining what Baresi was like as a person. The man behind the new design is Luca Rosada, a street artist.

“6 respect, 6 humility, 6 loyalty, 6 courage, 6 sacrifice, 6 elegance,” the circles say.

Rosada deserves a lot of credit as the mural looks absolutely wonderful. One would also hope that Milan have installed more CCTV to keep track of any future vandalism, though in an ideal world, they will never have to check the video back.
