Video: from London, a message of support for Harry Kane before the decisive moments
England captain dreams of the Ballon d'Or
Harry Kane has received fresh backing from within Bayern Munich ahead of the Ballon d'Or ceremony. As the German club's delegation touched down in London, his Colombian team-mate Luis Diaz named him as his favourite to win the award.
Asked which player he saw as the most likely to claim the Ballon d'Or, Diaz answered quickly and decisively: "The favourite? Harry, always Harry," according to a video posted by the account of the programme "El Chiringuito" on X.
Kane and Diaz landed in the British capital alongside a host of Bayern Munich stars, among them Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano, Lennart Karl and Klara Buhl.
The backing runs beyond the dressing room. Club president Herbert Hainer and chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen have also joined the Bayern delegation in London for the ceremony, with real confidence inside the club that Kane can be crowned.
Victory would make Kane the first Bayern Munich player to claim the Ballon d'Or since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981.
