Thomas Tuchel has said Morgan Rogers and Rio Ngumoha will compete to replace Bukayo Saka in the England side this month.

Saka has been ruled out of November's Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain, due a quad injury he sustained after just 10 minutes against Bayern Munich last month.

The Arsenal winger has missed his side's last four matches. Noni Madueke, who deputised for Saka at the World Cup in the summer, is also missing from the latest England squad.

Saka has been first choice for England on the right wing, but Tuchel is confident that he has enough options to combat his absence.

He said Chelsea's Rogers is the likeliest to feature from the right against Croatia next week, with Ngumoha offering an alternative.

"I think it's Morgan Rogers for us and then it will be Rio [Ngumoha] on that side. He played there for Liverpool and impressed in the last camp," Tuchel said on Friday.

"Josh King can maybe play there, we will try this, and then Morgan Gibbs-White can play on the wing.

"We need runners there who can attack through the lines, so I think we have options.

"It's a close call and difficult decision not to bring Noni [Madueke], but we stick with the group that we had and give them out trust."

Tuchel explains Cole Palmer absence from latest England squad

One attacking option that Tuchel has chosen to exclude is Cole Palmer. The German criticised Palmer's repeat absences from previous camps, and said the 24-year-old has not been around the group enough to earn a place.

"I guess everyone is desperate to play for England and Cole is no exception," he said.

"We are speaking now about a player that is not in camp. It counts when you are in camp and I just said last time that he misses too many opportunities to impress. It was a long camp, it was two and a half weeks and the players and the boys who were in campo built something extraordinary.

"That's why the credit goes to them, the trust is for them. If you are in camp, this is your chance to impress.

"So it's not personal and of course we will never assume that Cole is not in the mindset to come and desperate to play for his country, but the competition is on and the players who were in camp did an amazing job and kept their place."
