Ruben Amorim chose not to speak to the media today and it could become the norm for AC Milan, at least during the next month.

It has been well discussed how busy October is for Milan; they play seven times this month and five times in the next 13 days. So, Amorim will get very little time to work with his team at the training ground.

Of course, there will be recovery sessions, but he’s unlikely to get many ‘normal’ training opportunities. So, there will have to be some sacrifices…

Amorim’s decision

Calciomercato.com writes that Amorim’s decision to cancel the press conference is deliberate. Instead of speaking to the media in a traditional sense, he’d prefer to have more time with the team – especially after they had Friday afternoon off.

In fact, as the relayed PianetaMilan report suggests, it could happen again next weekend after the game against Bournemouth. The team are unlikely to return to Italy until the early hours of the morning again. So, they will only have a day to prepare for the trip to face Udinese.

Amorim’s priority, then, is ensuring that the team are in the best possible position and if that means no press conferences, he’ll make that sacrifice. He wants to focus on actions and not words, quite literally.
