Tension is rising between the RedBird-owned clubs AC Milan and Toulouse, according to a report, as David Odogu is yet to play a single minute this season.

In the summer, Milan sent several players out on loan, including a couple that they felt could get more playing elsewhere to then come back even stronger. Zachary Athekame springs to mind amid his great success at Lyon, but it hasn’t been as good for everyone.

Odogu, who left to join Toulouse, is yet to play a single minute for his new club. It’s rather strange as the youngster actually looked quite good in pre-season, while he got some playing time for Milan’s first team last season as well.

Odogu struggles at Toulouse

According to LesViolets, a website dedicated solely to Toulouse, ‘tension is rising’ between the French club and Milan, who loaned out their player with the expectation of at least semi-consistent playing time. Certainly not zero minutes after ten games.

As a result, Milan are looking for a new destination for Odogu and Toulouse aren’t counting on the German defender for the second half of the season. In other words, a loan move is more or less nailed on to happen in January.

It’s a rather strange situation as Toulouse, in case you didn’t know, is also owned by Gerry Cardinale and RedBird. It does show autonomy, which is good in a sense, but Milan were hoping to do more loan deals with the French side in the future. Perhaps not anymore.

It remains to be seen where Odogu will end up next, but in the summer, Anderlecht and Mainz also expressed an interest.
