Nico Paz: ‘I’ll never forget Man United, We have to play every game as if it’s our last’

Nico Paz has no doubts that his performance against Manchester United was one of the greatest games of his career after providing a brace and an assist in a 4-1 hammering in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, and has implored his Como teammates to continue treating every game ‘as if it’s our last’.

Paz was the Football Italia player of the match after a majestic display against three-time Champions Manchester United at the Stadio Sinigaglia in the Champions League league phase on Wednesday night.

He opened the scoring after two minutes, provided the assist for Tasos Douvikas for 2-0 and went alone after winning the ball on the right flank to send Como 3-0 up just shy of the hour mark. Goals from Jacobo Ramon and Joshua Zirkzee followed.

Paz speaks after MOTM performance against Manchester United

“That was one of the most beautiful games of my career, I’ll never forget it,” Paz told Sky Sport Italia in his post-match interview after the full-time whistle.

“It’s more than what I had dreamed of, we played an incredible game. We have to continue like this, but this was an historic night for everyone from Como.

“We have to carry on like this, not thinking about where we can go, but to take on every game as if it’s our last.”

And what about that peach of a strike to send Como into an early lead?

“I just saw the space and shot. I’m happy to experience nights like these in front of my family.”
