Milan’s 2-0 defeat at home against Ferencvaros in the Europa League earlier this week continues to make headlines in Italy, and the latest reports on Saturday morning have identified eight players that ‘annoyed’ head coach Ruben Amorim with their performances.

Gazzetta: Amorim annoyed by attitude and performance of several Milan players

The Rossoneri, who sit in fifth place in Serie A, fell to their third Europa League defeat in four matches on Thursday evening, at home against underdogs Ferencvaros, leaving them at risk of missing out of qualification for the knock-out stages.

Amorim cut a frustrated figure in the media zone after full-time, telling reporters during his post-match press conference: “We cannot afford to do something like this, especially in the first half, in front of our fans, at our home. We can’t do it.

“We have to improve, otherwise it’s over.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Amorim vented his frustrations at several Milan players in the dressing room at full-time.

Among those to have annoyed the coach with their ‘attitude’ and performance was recently-called-up Italy international Alphadjo Cisse, who was hauled off at half-time, despite the fact that he had been rested during the Derby della Madonnina a few days earlier.

He is not the only one, though. Several other of Milan’s ‘rotation players’ have been accused of not showing the right attitude on the night, including Davide Bartesaghi, Filippo Terracciano, Ardon Jashari and Yunus Musah.

Amorim is also said to be annoyed by the fact that Milan’s performance seemed to get worse in the second half, despite the fact that he brought on several of his first-team regulars. Mario Gila, Luka Modric and Christian Pulisic are among the replacements that have also come under criticism.

Milan have one Serie A match remaining before the international break, away against Genoa at 14.00 GMT on Sunday: An occasion that requires a victory to shake off the recent European disappointment.
