Mykhailo Mudryk’s Tottenham return remains uncertain after he was spotted at Stamford Bridge while recovering from an ankle injury. The visit does not confirm a new setback, but it has raised questions over whether he is ready to rejoin training.

Spurs Web reported that Mudryk watched Shakhtar Donetsk beat AEK Athens 3-1 at Chelsea’s ground on Wednesday, 14 October. Shakhtar are playing their Champions League home matches there this season. Mudryk joined Tottenham on loan from Chelsea and has made one appearance, playing 16 minutes, before picking up the injury.

His return date is not settled

The Standard had also put his expected return in late October, with a possible first opportunity against Crystal Palace on 31 October.

Those are estimates, not confirmation that he will be available for either date. The two reports establish that he was at Stamford Bridge; they do not establish that he missed Tottenham’s training camp in Marbella or that his recovery has suffered a fresh medical setback.

Spurs Web noted that Mudryk may not have travelled to Spain with the squad earlier in the week, but also raised the possibility that he could fly out after watching Shakhtar. There is no confirmed account in the available reporting of whether he later joined his teammates.

Tottenham cannot plan around a guess

Mudryk has made just one brief appearance for Spurs, so the immediate question is when he can resume training and build match fitness. Roberto De Zerbi has also discussed the challenge of returning to competitive football after Mudryk’s lengthy absence from the game. The timetable matters, but a date in an injury roundup is not a medical clearance.

That leaves Tottenham with little basis for treating his return as a dependable near-term boost to their wide options. The club’s Mudryk injury situation will need a clearer update before his availability can be built into squad planning.

The next useful sign is whether he resumes training with the group. Until that is established, late October and November remain projected windows rather than a return date Spurs can bank on.
