Ruben Amorim is expected to make six changes to the starting eleven, according to a report, hoping for a better response from AC Milan against Genoa.

The mid-week disappointment is still very much at the top of our minds, especially since Milan’s Europa League campaign has now turned into a nightmare. Furthermore, after the derby win, the Rossoneri wanted to build some momentum, not squash it immediately.

Amorim was very clear in his post-match comments, criticising the players for their attitude, and it’s no surprise to see that he’s preparing a lot of changes for tomorrow. Against an in-form Genoa side, Milan will indeed have to be at their best.

Few choices in defence

The main problem is that several players are still on the sidelines due to injury. The goal was to at least recover Strahinja Pavlovic for this one, but he hasn’t been called up and that means the defence remains very thin, with no senior centre-back options on the bench.

As a result, per MilanNews, Sankhoun Diawara is keeping his centre-back spot while Mike Maignan is back between the sticks after serving a suspension. Pervis Estupinan should be the starting left-back, as Amorim feels Bartesaghi isn’t at 100%.

There are no surprises from the midfield and onwards, really, with the starters Luka Modric, Diego Moreira and Christian Pulisic returning. It would be great if Goncalo Ramos could up his goalscoring, with just two league goals so far.

Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Diawara, Estupinan; Musah, Modric; Moreira, Rabiot, Pulisic; Ramos.

Predicted bench: Torriani, Bouyer, F. Terracciano, Vladimirov, Bartesaghi, Jashari, Comotto, Hutchinson, Cisse, Camarda.
