Milan Slated to Confirm the Appointment of Krosche
Milan are on the verge of completing their lengthy chase of Markus Krosche, as their owner Gerry Cardinale teased before the derby. The new exec should be officially ushered in before December 1st, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
The soon-to-be former Eintracht Frankfurt official was their top target to lead the front office last summer after the ousting of Giorgio Furlani, Massimiliano Allegri, Igli Tare, and Geoffrey Moncada. However, the Rossoneri couldn’t get him out of his contract. They promoted the few directors they had retained. Governor and Ruben Amorim played a big role in the transfer market.
Krosche was recently dismissed by the Bundesliga outfit, paving the way for his Milan switch. It’s still unclear whether they will have to pay his release clause, as he remains under contract. The director has been masterful at unearthing talent and selling it for mammoth fees later on. His best operations involved Randal Kolo Muani, Omar Marmoush, Hugo Ekitiké, and Willian Pacho.
According to Mediaset, he might not be able to bring over his long-time right-hand man Timmo Hardung. He has effectively taken over his position at Eintracht Frankfurt. However, it might only be temporary.
Our Take on Milan and Krosche
It wouldn’t have looked great if they didn’t land the plane after what happened last summer and his recent firing, but it’ll be a blip in the long run. Their window was unorthodox but still solid, barring Gonçalo Ramos, who needs to fare much better, and not just score more, to live up to his price tag. Considering their superior caliber, the optimal outcome would be to routinely add starlets for relatively cheap and develop them, not flip them for a profit.
