Milan hope Mario Gila and Diego Moreira will recover in time for Saturday’s derby against Inter, while Adrien Rabiot’s return is considered unlikely, according to Gazzetta.

Milan are licking their wounds after a 4-2 home loss to Bologna on Wednesday, their first defeat in Serie A this season.

The Rossoneri came to the match with eight injured players, and Fikayo Tomori was subbed off at half-time against Bologna on Wednesday; his condition will be assessed today.

According to Gazzetta, Milan hope Gila and Moreira will recover for Saturday’s derby against Inter, while Rabiot’s return to action is unlikely. The Frenchman is recovering from a calf injury.

The other injured players, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, Matteo Gabbia and Alexis Saelemaekers will surely miss the Derby della Madonnina, Gazzetta (via MilanNews) claims.

Milan coach Ruben Amorim said on Wednesday that he and the medical staff would assess the players’ condition today.

“I think one or two might recover; perhaps we could take a risk with them. We’ll see,” the Portuguese said during a post-match press conference.
