Milan Futuro 2-1 Piacenza: Rossoneri move up to third in Serie D in rescheduled fixture
Today, the Milan Futuro side caught up in the fixture list, with their postponed game against Piacenza, originally scheduled for Matchday 5.
After their win last week, Milan were looking to make it two in a row and four unbeaten today, in the second half of their game against Piacenza, and they did. A 2-1 scoreline, the young Rossoneri have now moved up to third, overtaking today’s opponents.
The match (half) report
Casting your minds back to the first half of the game on October 14, the Rossoneri were probably the weaker team. However, it was postponed due to an injury suffered by the referee, Prencipe.
The ‘second half’, then, started strongly for Navarro’s side, as they took the lead within the first five minutes. A well-orchestrated move finished by Lorenzo Ossola, and a brilliant start to the game.
It wasn’t all the Diavolo, though, and the visitors put a lot of pressure on the game, especially on the counter-attack. However, Milan held on and eventually doubled their lead in the 66th minute, thanks to Silvano Vos.
Things almost got nervy when Piacenza got one back from a set-piece, and a tense ending was set up. However, the scoreline remained the same and the Futuro took all three points.
