Marotta offers update on new San Siro progress with render expected: “Close the gap”
AC Milan and Inter are waiting to take the next step in the stadium-building process, and it should be seen this month.
Right now, fans of both Milanese clubs know that they will have a new stadium in 2031, but there is no clue about what it’ll actually look like. Supposedly, there will be elements inspired by San Siro as it stands today.
However, it will also be modernised and feature some of its own little quirks, offered by Foster+Partners and Manica.
Soon, though, we won’t have to rely on these suggestions with a rendering of the stadium set to be made available this month. Beppe Sala has called for the clubs to hurry with this, but they are not behind on their timelines.
Marotta’s San Siro update
Speaking at Inter’s Shareholders’ Meeting, Beppe Marotta offered a small update on the new stadium, with progress expected to be shown this month, as PianetaMilan relayed.
“We will soon share with all of you the wonderful results of the design work for Milan’s new stadium, which will be a new urban icon, a revitalised sports hub, vibrant and open to the public. This proprietary facility will also represent a strategic platform that will allow Inter to increase revenue and close the gap with Europe’s top clubs.”
