Jeglertz confirms double Man City injury blow but praises players after thrashing West Ham
Manchester City Women boss Andrée Jeglertz has confirmed Alex Greenwood and Anna Moorhouse are both likely to be sidelined until after the upcoming international break.
The pair picked up injuries in training ahead of City’s 5-0 WSL win over West Ham United, with Greenwood suffering an ankle problem and Moorhouse dealing with a foot injury.
“Both of them is not great,” Jeglertz said.
“Alex’s is an ankle injury, and they will be out for a while.
“She got a knock a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, she’ll be out until the international break.”
The injuries represent a setback for City during a busy run of fixtures, although Jeglertz was pleased with the strength of his squad after seeing his side comfortably beat West Ham and return to the top of the WSL.
“We said after the game also and we talked about it during the week that we are going to need all players this period when we play a lot of games,” he said.
“We also talked about the depth of the team and this shows today also how important that will be.
“We need that. We definitely need all players coming in and getting a touch of what this is about.
“They all had an impact today definitely.”
City are due to return from the international break against Crystal Palace on Sunday, December 13.
