Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg says Rokas Pukstas is still around a month away from returning to action as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Pukstas has endured a frustrating start to life at Boro since arriving from Hajduk Split because of injury.

“He’s a month away, maybe, something like that,” Hellberg said, providing an update on the midfielder.

“He’s a strong boy, he came from playing a lot and now he’s doing everything to come back stronger in every way he can.

“That’s how you try always to look at things, you can work on the things you can work at and try be stronger at that.”

Hellberg admitted the situation has been difficult for Pukstas but praised his attitude during rehabilitation.

“Of course it’s tough, it’s absolutely tough, but he’s doing good,” he said.

“He’s in a good mood and working very, very hard to come back stronger than he was before.”
