There is mixed news for AC Milan regarding the immediate futures of a couple of their wide players, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Alexis Saelemaekers will head to Amsterdam on Monday to see Professor Gino Kerkhoffs for a final consultation regarding his right ankle, which was injured during training on September 29.

Unless the news is positive, he will undergo surgery performed by Kerkhoffs himself the same surgeon who treated Santiago Giménez’s ankle in December 2025 and is considered a leading European specialist for foot and ankle procedures.

The Belgian is expected to be sidelined for at least four months, which means that head coach Ruben Amorim will be without a key wild card for his 3-4-2-1 system, given Saelemaekers can play as a winger or a playmaker.

The news is much more positive for Pervis Estupiñán, who suffered a knee injury while playing for Ecuador. Barring any setbacks or further discomfort, he will train today with the rest of the squad and could be available for the match in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo.

Further good news for Amorim is that the entire contingent will be back in training today with the final internationals returning to Milano. That gives two full days to best prepare for Sassuolo, which starts a very difficult and intense run of games.
