AC Milan head into their game against Genoa today with the familiar feeling of needing a win to bounce back after a midweek setback.
Having been outplayed by Ferencvaros on Thursday, the pressure is on Ruben Amorim’s team to deliver against a resurgent Genoa, just as the derby became a must-win after the Bologna defeat, and Udinese was after the Bournemouth debacle.

It will certainly not be an easy task against Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa, who come into this one having won three on the spin and four out of five, losing only to Roma in that stretch. Below is how the Italian papers are previewing a big game at the Marassi.
La Gazzetta dello Sport front page: “The Milan of the big names returns, in Genoa’s home. Amorim fields his starters. From Modrić to Gila, aiming to avoid any further slip-ups.”
La Gazzetta dello Sport inside: “Milan: a true test. What an opportunity to close the gap on Inter or Como.
“The problem: A setback follows every victory. It’s a mental issue. The issue: Ramos, the outsider. He rarely scores and has no impact on the game. The curiosity: El Shaarawy, Messias, Colombo – keep an eye on these notable former players.
“Modrić, Pulišić, and Gila: the three big names return. Amorim plays it safe.”
QS: “Milan, a mission for redemption after their European flop. Amorim: the Genoa test.”
