Fabrizio Romano says club “open to selling” Blues’ top midfield target in January
Alex Scott remains Chelsea’s top target for their midfield, and it looks like it’s just a matter of when, not if they sign him.
Chelsea are already locked on to their top target for midfield it seems.
Jordan Henderson has done really well since coming into the team alongside Moises Caicedo, but he needs a young successor, and Alex Scott is the perfect candidate. Fabrizio Romano has been speaking about the links this week, emphasising that the move could happen as soon as January.
Scott available in January at the right price
“Chelsea are still there for Alex Scott and maintain genuine interest. He’s on the shortlist. They are in regular contact with people close to the player,” Romano said.
“Bournemouth are open to selling Alex Scott in January. This depends on the proposal. Some sources say a minimum of £100m.”
He’s not going to cost any less in the summer, realistically. If Chelsea want him as much as it seems they do, they should go out there and get him. If he recovers from his injury on time, expect serious pressure from the Blues in just a couple of months’ time when the window opens.
