Even at 41, Luka Modric is Milan's best player by a country mile

Former Real Madrid maestro and current Milan midfielder Luka Modric is proving to be the ultimate cheat code yet again. Even at 41 years of age, the Croatian wizard is still performing at an incredibly high level,

Modric is having another impressive season, and judging by the way he controls games for Milan, there is no reason for the player to not be called the best on the team. He has been a brilliant presence in midfield for the Italian outfit, and it is just crazy to think about the fact that he is as old as he is... no offense, Luka.

In fact, even now, Modric is leading a couple of statistics in Italy. He is second in most long balls completed every game with 10.4, along with most players bypassed through passes with 13.4 every time he steps on the pitch.

Luka Modric is still a joke of a player, even at 41

He is not starting every single game of the season like he used to, but that does not mean these statistics are not legit. They absolutely are.

They wouldn't be had Modric only played a couple of games here and there, which would have made the statistics redundant because of the incredibly short sample size. He has started five of Milan's nine games, and has played substantial minutes in each of the games he has played - even the ones he did not start.

Modric's numbers are a joke because Modric's skill is one, too, and that is meant in the most appreciative of ways. Modric has been doing this kind of sorcery for the last couple of decades or so, which is exactly why Real Madrid fans know what they are getting themselves into when they talk about how good he was or how high he should be ranked in terms of all-time greats.

Modric is certainly one of the greatest midfielders this game has ever seen, and even if you don't think he is the absolute greatest - for which there is an absolutely strong argument, and is the one I use, too - even then, it cannot be denied that Modric is up there, at the very least.

To be doing this level of sorcery at 41 years of age is, quite frankly, insane. There is not a single player who was as good as Modric is at this age, and people will realise jsut how ridiculous his longevity has been and his peak was, and when that happens, they will bring him a bit higher in their ranking of him in the all-time lists, if he isn't already at the top.
