English media have a very clear opinion of Jorrel Hato’s performance
Jorrel Hato has won praise from the English press for his performance in Chelsea's 2-0 away win over Liverpool side Everton on Saturday afternoon. The 20-year-old Netherlands international supplied an assist, and every outlet rated his display positively.
After Pep Chavarria pulled out with minor physical complaints, Hato was a somewhat surprising starter for Chelsea. The former Ajax player took his chance, helping Portuguese player Pedro Neto put the visitors ahead just 44 seconds into the second half.
Holding off his opponent, Morgan Rogers found Hato with a backheel. The Dutchman surged forward at pace and sent in a low cross, which Neto turned into the opening goal.
The Evening Standard gives the left-back a 7, pointing out that he only made the starting XI at the last moment. "He capped a strong performance with an excellent assist for Neto," writes journalist Dom Smith, singling out Hato's attacking contribution.
Metro: another 7 for Hato, with particular praise for the way he got past his opponent for the opener. "He got forward well for Chelsea's opener and showed plenty of pace and strength to hold off his opponent and pull the ball back across goal for Neto," is its verdict on the former Ajax player.
GOAL's 7 reflects a different strength. It praises the Netherlands international's tactical discipline and his work in neutralising Everton's threat from the flanks. According to GOAL, Hato held his position excellently until his substitution in stoppage time, helping Chelsea maintain their defensive organisation.
An 8 from The False 9 is the highest rating. The outlet highlights Hato's intelligent movement for the opening goal and his decisive low cross to Neto.
