CM: Cisse turns heads with another goal – Mancini considering Italy call-up

Alphadjo Cisse wrote his name in the headlines again on Sunday night, scoring for the second time in three games.

What we learned from last night’s draw at the Allianz Stadium is that Milan remain a work in progress, especially in their attacking play, however Cisse once again emerged as a bright note with his contribution off the bench.

As Calciomercato.com write how as games pass, his confidence grows. Cisse is a ready, direct, and effective player. He has two goals in his first three outings with the Rossoneri, each showing a level of technique and confidence that raised eyebrows given he is just 19.

These are unmistakable signs that the former Catanzaro star is sending to the Milan world and to Italian football. Those characteristics, his ability to move inside and find the net with ease, have already make him a key player in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation.

The report adds that Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci – Roberto Mancini’s assistant in the national team – was present in the stands at the stadium on Sunday evening.

What has filtered is that Mancini is considering calling up Cisse for the upcoming Nations League matches against Belgium (Friday 25 September in Rome), Turkey (away on Monday 28 September and Monday 5 October in Bologna) and France (Friday 2 October in Saint-Denis).

In the Italian youth teams, Cisse made two appearances with the U21s, six with the U19s (scoring one goal in a friendly against Serbia), one with the U18s and four with the U16s. Now, a senior call-up could be the latest reward for his start with Milan.
