Clarence Seedorf already under fire at Corinthians after just one match: ‘What a donkey, a real fool!’

Just a week and a half after Clarence Seedorf was appointed Corinthians coach, his position is already under threat following Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Vitória.

Corinthians icon Neto was furious with what he saw in that game. Seedorf is still waiting for the necessary paperwork and has yet to take his place on the bench, but Neto believes he got every decision wrong.

"He puts Vitinho, who has scored one goal, and Jesse Lingard, who has only scored two, on the pitch," Neto fumes on Brazil's TV Bandeirantes.

"Then, remarkably, he doesn't believe in Gui Negão and André Carrillo. He also substituted midfielder André. What an ass you are, a complete fool!"

For Neto, the Dutchman is completely unsuited to coaching Corinthians. "He knows absolutely nothing about Brazilian football. What's more, he has already shown that he lacks the ability to be a coach. He doesn't know the country or the team."

Although Seedorf ended Corinthians' run of eight consecutive league defeats with the 1-1 draw, unrest at the club continues. On Wednesday, news broke that technical director Marcelo Paz had been sacked.

Paz brought Seedorf to Corinthians only recently and spoke out strongly in the Dutchman's defence after fierce criticism. The ongoing financial crisis and disappointing results have now cost him his job.
