Borussia Dortmund turn their attention to the UEFA Champions League this week as Real Betis visit the Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday for matchday four in the League Phase of the competition.

Although the BVB have won two of their opening three games, both were by a one-goal margin: 3-2 vs Villarreal and 2-1 vs Sabah FK.

Interspersed between these wins was a shock 1-0 loss away to Bodo/Glimt on matchday two as Dortmund have six points right now and occupy 13th position in the standings.

Adding more wind to their sails was an encouraging 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich in a crunch Der Klassiker on Saturday, as Fabio Silva's 89th-minute equalizer salvaged a point.

However, given Bayern's dominance in the second half, the draw felt like a win and boosts BVB's confidence ahead of Champions League return.

Real Betis are no slouch, occupying fourth position in the LaLiga table with 23 points from 11 games, having won seven times too.

In the Champions League, El Glorioso have won all three matches so far for a perfect start to the campaign, beating Lille 3-2, Porto 3-2 and Feyenoord 1-0.

The Seville outfit will now be looking to pick up their first real scalp of the Champions League season here against Dortmund, who face the 10th Spanish team in their European history.

Borussia Dortmund vs Real Betis Team News

The BVB are missing in the long-term absentees Emre Can (ACL), Giannis Konstantelias (ACL) and Justin Lerma (muscle). Kaua Prates recently sustained a muscle issue too and will be unavailable. Konstantinos Karetsas returned from his ankle injury at the weekend and could play a part here too. Fabio Silva has made a strong case to start here with his late heroics at the Allianz Arena.

Real Betis won't be able to call upon Cucho Hernandez, who is recovering from a calf problem while Junior Firpo has muscular issues and can't make it for the Dortmund visit. The visitors will be banking on their in-form attacking triumvirate of Isco, Marc Bartra and Abde Ezzalzouli to get past this challenge.
