Cape Verde's surprise in the picture

CAF have revealed the nominees for Africa's best goalkeeper of 2026.

Egypt have two men on the list: Al Ahly's Mostafa Shobeir and Zamalek's El-Mahdy Soliman. Morocco match them with Al-Hilal's Yassine Bounou and Royal Army's Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti.

Algeria's Oussama Benbot of USM Alger and Senegal's Edouard Mendy of Al-Ahli also make the cut, as does Vozinha. The Colo-Colo and Cape Verde goalkeeper earned his place with a stunning run at the 2026 World Cup, dragging his country out of the group stage on their debut appearance before Argentina edged them out in extra time.

Three names complete the 10-man shortlist: Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa), Yahia Fofana (Rizespor, Ivory Coast) and Lionel Mpasi (Le Havre, Democratic Republic of Congo).

CAF will crown the winner at their awards ceremony on 7 December in Lagos.
