Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed a fresh injury concern following the Gunners’ 1-0 victory against Liverpool at Anfield.

The win came courtesy of a Kai Havertz goal, and was their first league victory at Anfield since 2012. However, Eberechi Eze did not take part in the match.

“We had an issue with Ebs as well,” revealed the Arsenal boss. “It was incredible that he was in the squad today.

“I want to give credit to all the medical and the performance team because what they’re doing with those boys is sort of incredible. Every three days to take care of everybody at this level

“That’s why these are the places sometimes where you win a football match or not. When you have somebody available or not and they deserve that credit.”

Eze’s absence was lessened by the return of Christos Tzolis after a month out. The Greek international returned straight into the starting lineup.

“It’s the energy that he had in training,” explained Arteta. “When I asked him the question how convinced he was.

“With Christos it was incredible. He didn’t want to come off, he wanted to complete the game. We took some risks but at that point we decided okay now it’s enough.”
