Amorim admits Camarda must improve ‘explosiveness’ after another struggling display
Ruben Amorim shared his thoughts on Francesco Camarda after AC Milan’s 4-0 win against Salzburg, admitting that the youngster needs to work on his explosiveness.
Given that seven changes were made to the starting eleven, several players were handed an important opportunity by Amorim. From Fikayo Tomori and Ardon Jashari to Omari Hutchinson and Camarda, they all had points to prove.
However, while most of them impressed and definitely improved their chances of getting more starts, Camarda wasn’t a huge success. We even rated him at 5/10 due to poor ball control and a clear lack of pace.
Amorim’s thoughts on Camarda
After the game, Amorim was asked about Camarda in his interview with Sky Italia. While he said that the 18-year-old striker reads the game very well, he also admitted that there is a lot of work to be done on explosiveness, which affects his pace and acceleration.
“Camarda reads games well. He needs to improve his explosiveness, pace, and rhythm. We’re working on it. He has the ability to run for the full 90 minutes. We’re working on it. That’s something he lacked again tonight, also because he knows how to move in the box, he knows a lot,” he stated.
It remains to be seen when Camarda will get the chance from start again, but given the tight schedule it might just be a week or two away.
