Burton vs Huddersfield - Saturday October 3 (3pm)

Just five points separate 12th-placed Wycombe from table-toppers Bradford and two of the teams involved in this scramble for League One promotion meet at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday, when Burton host Huddersfield.

These two teams are level on 12 points — the seventh-placed Brewers playing one more game than the Terriers in sixth — and a win for either side could see them jump to the summit depending on how results go in the other two matches.

Burton have been a tough nut to crack at home and are unbeaten in four league matches, but just one of those contests has ended in a win and another share of the spoils could be on the cards.

Huddersfield have drawn two of their four away games in the league, earning a point at MK Dons and Mansfield, and they can head back to West Yorkshire with a positive result.

Team news

Burton remain without Toby Sibbick, who is on international duty with Uganda, while Joe Lewis is set for several weeks on the sidelines because of a broken toe.

There is better news on Kyran Lofthouse, who is closing in on a return to first-team action and could be included in the matchday squad.

Huddersfield's injury list is more severe with Jack Whatmough joining Ryan Ledson, Herbie Kane, David Kasumu and Marcus McGuane in the treatment room.

Sean Roughan is available after taking part in training this week and Bojan Radulovic is fit after recovering from a back spasm, while Derensili Sanches Fernandes has been nursing a persistent knee issue and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Key stats

  • Both teams have scored in all six of Burton's home fixtures this season

  • Burton boast the joint sixth-best home record in the 2026-27 League One campaign, having collected six points

  • Huddersfield have scored in seven of their last eight away matches in England's third tier

  • Huddersfield's Joe Taylor has registered at least one shot on target in his last six League One games

  • Burton's Curtis Tilt has committed two or more fouls in three of his last five appearances

Score prediction: Burton 1-1 Huddersfield (23/5 with LiveScore Bet)

Leyton Orient vs Plymouth - Saturday October 3 (3pm)

Plymouth will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they make the trip to Brisbane Road to face Leyton Orient, who would move level on points with the Pilgrims with a victory on home soil.

Tom Cleverley's visitors were disappointing in a 1-0 defeat to Burton last weekend but a clash away from Home Park could be exactly what is required to get back on track, with only Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford boasting more points on the road than Plymouth.

Orient managed to defeat Stevenage 1-0 in their last match, which was two weeks ago, snapping a four-game winless run in the process and arresting what had been a slump in form.

However, the O's have been hard to trust at home with one win and three losses from their four League One assignments and they could be exposed by a Plymouth side who have scored seven times across their last two away games.

Team news

Demetri Mitchell is the only injury absentee for Orient, who could name the same starting XI that defeated Stevenage two weeks ago.

Plymouth will need to assess Julio Pleguezuelo, who was substituted in the second half of the loss to Burton, with Mathias Ross in line to come in if required.

Key stats

  • Leyton Orient have the joint second-worst home record in the division, collecting just three points

  • Plymouth have scored eight goals away from home in the league, the joint-most alongside Orient

  • Plymouth forward Aribim Pepple has scored in three of his last four games and managed at least one shot on target in each of his last five outings

  • Jaze Kabia has committed a leading 20 fouls for Orient, with at least two fouls made in each of his last four matches

  • Plymouth have won on their last two trips to Brisbane Road, recording 1-0 and 3-1 victories

Score prediction: Leyton Orient 1-3 Plymouth (8/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Reading vs Bradford City - Saturday October 3 (3pm)

Table-toppers Bradford remain without a permanent manager following Graham Alexander's departure to Preston, leaving Mark Trueman and Colin Doyle in caretaker charge for Saturday's clash at Reading.

This will be the Bantams' first game since the exit of Alexander and it remains to be seen how big an impact his move will have, given he had guided the team to five wins out of seven to sit top.

Bradford have won three of their four away matches in League One, with all three victories being 1-0 scorelines, but they may struggle to improve on that record against the best home team in the division.

Reading have collected nine points from a possible 12 and have scored 13 goals at home, notably sticking five past Mansfield in a 5-0 thumping last month.

With Bradford potentially reeling from Alexander's switch to Preston and Reading strong at home, this looks like a prime opportunity for the Royals to claim the spoils.

The latest Reading vs Bradford odds are available on LiveScore Bet

Team news

Reading are missing Andy Rinomhota, Jeriel Dorsett and Charlie Savage due to international commitments and George Earthy because of injury.

International duty also means Bradford are without Jon McCracken and Ibou Touray, while Tyreik Wright and Josh Neufville remain in the treatment room.

Key stats

  • Reading boast the best home record in the division, collecting nine points

  • Bradford have the joint-best away record, winning three of their four matches

  • Only three teams have scored fewer than the Bantams' seven goals

  • Jack Marriott has scored three goals in his last three games for Reading

  • Bradford's Antoni Sarcevic has been booked in three matches in a row

Score prediction: Reading 2-0 Bradford (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)
