Insider makes PSG’s January transfer plans clear after attacker injury
PSG are making it clear that they’re going to trust in their current options rather than sign a new winger to replace their injured star.
The injury to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was more than a week ago, but it’s still dominating the headlines around PSG.
Young winger Mika Godts is going to have a much bigger role in the Georgian’s absence, and he scored his first goal for the Parisians on Monday.
According to well connected PSG insider Fabrice Hawkins, the club are planning to trust the youngster and not make a January move for cover for Kvara.
PSG ready to soldier on and put faith in new signing
“The management counts on Mika Godts to fill the void in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s absence,” Hawkins reported on RMC Sport’s TV channel last night.
“The club is not necessarily targeting a direct replacement for the winger. However, they could seek to recruit a young player with high potential at a reasonable fee.”
That echoes what manager Luis Enrique said in his press conference this week: the club are equipped to deal with injuries and wouldn’t buy anyone just to fill a gap – however they are always looking for good talent at the right price.
