Real Madrid forward keeps transfer options open despite improved role under Mourinho
After a somewhat shaky start to the 2026-27 season, Real Madrid have clearly turned their form around in the last few weeks. The comeback win against AS Roma has turned out to be quite a turning point for the Merengues, and a clear sign of this was their victory against a FC Barcelona side in their last week’s El Clasico that had almost a perfect start to the season.
One of the players who proved decisive in the important game against AS Roma was the Brazilian forward Endrick. He had played only four minutes prior to that game, against Elche, but was still at his best level as he helped his team turn the score around and get a win in Rome.
That performance significantly improved Endrick’s prospects in Mourinho’s plans. After playing only four minutes in the first eight games of the season, he has played 102 minutes in the last five games. Still, he is not a regular starter for the Portuguese coach and is not expected to become one, especially because of all the attacking talent present in the Real Madrid squad.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian remains a highly sought player in the market. Several clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation as they want to sign him in January. For his part, Diario AS reports that Endrick is keeping his options open, and has not yet made a final decision.
Before making a decision about a move in January, the forward wants to exhaust all his options with Mourinho. Going forward, there are around ten games, seven in La Liga and three in the Champions League, left before the start of the transfer window, and these games will significantly impact the decision the Brazilian makes about a winter transfer.
In recent days, Jose Mourinho has assured that he is not considering a departure for Endrick, but the player wants to play regularly to continue his growth and development, and it remains to be seen whether he will remain at Real Madrid for the second half of this season.
