Hansi Flick's Barcelona begin their LaLiga title defence with a trip to Elche
  • Espanyol, Alaves and Sevilla are all looking to build from week one wins

  • Real Madrid and Barcelona begin their LaLiga campaigns after staggered starts

  • Atletico Madrid face a tricky test when hosting Villarreal

All 20 teams will be in LaLiga action this week, with Barcelona and Real Madrid two of eight teams getting their campaigns started following the staggered start.

Rayo Vallecano vs Alaves – Thursday August 20 (8pm)

Alaves started off their LaLiga campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Getafe and they can follow up with another victory when they face Rayo Vallecano, who lost 2-1 at Sevilla on Saturday and are having to play their home matches at the Butarque Stadium in Leganes.

Prediction: Rayo Vallecano 1-2 Alaves (11/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Real Betis vs Real Sociedad – Friday August 21 (8pm)

Real Betis are unbeaten at home in their last 11 LaLiga games and that strong record can see them get the better of Real Sociedad, who have lost on their last two visits to Betis and last won away from home in the league in February.

Prediction: Real Betis 2-1 Real Sociedad (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Athletic Bilbao vs Sevilla – Saturday August 22 (4pm)

Sevilla lost five of their last six away games last season and they may struggle when they head to the San Mames, a stadium they have collected just one point at from the last three visits, to take on Athletic Bilbao.

Prediction: Athletic Bilbao 2-1 Sevilla (7/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Valencia vs Celta Vigo – Saturday August 22 (6.30pm)

Celta Vigo enjoyed an unbeaten pre-season and can start off their league campaign with a win at Valencia, who have lost three of the last four meetings against the Sky Blues.

Prediction: Valencia 1-2 Celta Vigo (10/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Espanyol vs Real Madrid – Saturday August 22 (8.30pm)

Jose Mourinho's second Real Madrid tenure begins with a trip to Espanyol, who have lost six of the last seven meetings against Los Blancos.

Real went unbeaten through pre-season, scoring at least twice in all five matches, and they can start off with a victory.

Prediction: Espanyol 1-3 Real Madrid (19/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Atletico Madrid vs Villarreal – Sunday August 23 (4pm)

Atletico Madrid eased past Malaga 2-0 in their LaLiga opener and another victory is expected when they host Villarreal, who could manage only a 2-2 draw against Racing Santander and have lost on two of their last three trips to Atleti.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Villarreal (15/2 with LiveScore Bet)

Getafe vs Racing Santander – Sunday August 23 (6.30pm)

Getafe were thumped 3-0 at Alaves in their LaLiga opener and there could be more disappointment when hosting Racing Santander, who recorded a solid 2-2 draw at home to Villarreal on Sunday.

Prediction: Getafe 0-2 Racing Santander (15/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Elche vs Barcelona – Sunday August 23 (8.30pm)

Barcelona were the last team to win at Elche, recording a 3-1 victory in January, and that same result could happen again in Sunday's meeting.

Elche have scored in their last six home matches in a row, but have lost the last 12 meetings against the Catalans and look set for another defeat.

Prediction: Elche 1-3 Barcelona (8/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Osasuna vs Levante – Monday August 24 (6.30pm)

Both teams have scored in 10 of Osasuna’s last 11 LaLiga games and in three of Levante’s last four away matches, so there could be goals in this contest.

Prediction: Osasuna 2-2 Levante (12/1 with LiveScore Bet)

Malaga vs Deportivo A Coruna – Monday August 24 (8.30pm)

Deportivo secured a draw at home to Elche in their LaLiga opener and they can get a positive result from Monday's trip to Malaga, who have drawn their last three home games.

Prediction: Malaga 1-1 Deportivo A Coruna (24/5 with LiveScore Bet)
