  • Barcelona lead Real Madrid by four points at the top

  • Villarreal and Atletico Madrid are tied on 54 points behind the top two

  • Only the leaders Barca have more points than Getafe in the last six games

Two LaLiga defeats in their last three games means Real Madrid have slipped four points behind leaders Barcelona in the Spanish title race.

Los Blancos thumped Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek and will look to bring that form into the weekend.

We have picked out a correct-score prediction for each of the ten games this weekend in LaLiga.

Alaves vs Villarreal (Friday 8pm)

Villarreal are in a very good position to secure a Champions League place after winning 17 of their first 27 league games. They are facing an Alaves team who have lost three of their last five matches and are the third-lowest scorers in the division. Expect the Yellow Submarine to secure a comfortable win.

Score prediction: Alaves 0-2 Villarreal

Girona vs Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, 1pm)

Goals have been a big issue for both of these teams this season and another low-scoring affair could follow. Girona have drawn ten of their 27 league matches and could grind out another stalemate against the midtable Athletic Bilbao.

Score prediction: Girona 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Atletico Madrid vs Getafe (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Atletico Madrid were somewhat gifted their 5-2 win over Tottenham on Tuesday but they did have to put their chances away. That should be a boost when returning to domestic matters and they may stop Getafe’s strong run of form.

The visitors have only scored 23 goals this season and their issues in front of goal could hold them back again.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Getafe

Real Oviedo vs Valencia (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Valencia have won three of their last four and can extend that run against bottom side Real Oviedo. The hosts have scored just 17 goals all season and they could be blanked once again.

Score prediction: Real Oviedo 0-2 Valencia

Real Madrid vs Elche (Saturday, 8pm)

Real Madrid pulled off an impressive 3-0 win over Manchester City in midweek but their domestic form has not been great. They should be far too strong for strugglers Elche but still may concede in victory.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Elche

Mallorca vs Espanyol (Sunday, 1pm)

Espanyol’s strong early season form is starting to tail off and they may find life tough against a Mallorca side who have been solid at home.

Score prediction: Mallorca 0-0 Espanyol

Barcelona vs Sevilla (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Barcelona were laboured in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Tuesday but they should have too much for bottom-half side Sevilla, who are only six points clear of the drop.

Score prediction: Barcelona 3-0 Sevilla

Real Betis vs Celta Vigo (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Fifth plays sixth in what could end up an entertaining stalemate. Real Betis and Celta Vigo have both drawn ten games apiece this season and there may be little to split them once again.

Score prediction: Real Betis 2-2 Celta Vigo

Rayo Vallecano vs Levante (Monday, 8pm)

Rayo Vallecano have been much improved recently, going unbeaten in their last five games, and they should have the measure of relegation candidates Levante, who have the worst defensive record in LaLiga.

Score prediction: Rayo Vallecano 2-1 Levante
