Title-chasing Real Madrid head to third-placed Villarreal on Saturday evening
Barcelona bid to build on their one-point lead at the top against bottom club Oviedo
Red-hot Girona hoping to pile the misery on relegation-threatened Getafe
The battle for the LaLiga title looks like being a two-way duel between Barcelona and Real Madrid, with the Catalan giants just one point ahead of their long-standing rivals at the summit.
However, while Barca should have few concerns at home to rock-bottom Oviedo, Real face a tricky trip to third-placed Villarreal, who are seven points behind Los Blancos.
The scrap for survival is intriguing, with just three points separating Osasuna in 12th and third-bottom Alaves, so there is plenty at stake at both ends of the table this weekend.
We have picked out a score prediction for all 10 matches.
Levante vs Elche (Friday, 8pm)
Levante sit second bottom, six points adrift of safety, and they have failed to win any of their eight home games this season.
However, eighth-placed Elche remain winless on their travels and may have to settle for a point.
Score Prediction: Levante 1-1 Elche
Rayo Vallecano vs Osasuna (Saturday, 1pm)
Just goal difference splits this mid-table pair but Rayo Vallecano are unbeaten in nine at home and hold the aces.
Osasuna have scored just three goals in ten away league games, collecting only two points.
Score Prediction: Rayo Vallecano 2-0 Osasuna
Valencia vs Espanyol (Saturday, 3.15pm)
Draws have been a common theme for Valencia this season, especially at home where they have shared the spoils 1-1 in four of their last five matches.
The last six meetings between this pair have also ended in score draws.
Score Prediction: Valencia 1-1 Espanyol
Sevilla vs Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, 5.30pm)
Sevilla have endured a five-game winless run, failing to score on four occasions, and look there for the taking.
Athletic Bilbao have won four of the last five head-to-heads and they triumphed away at Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek.
Score Prediction: Sevilla 0-2 Athletic Bilbao
Villarreal vs Real Madrid (Saturday, 8pm)
A 6-1 rout of Monaco in the Champions League on Tuesday suggests that Real Madrid are back in the groove and they can keep the heat on Barcelona with a high-scoring victory at Villarreal, who have lost three of their last four at home.
Score Prediction: Villarreal 1-3 Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid vs Mallorca (Sunday, 1pm)
Twelve straight home wins would indicate an easy time of things for Atletico Madrid, especially given that Mallorca have lost on seven of their 10 road trips.
Atletico have also won four of the last five meetings between the sides to nil.
Score Prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Mallorca
Barcelona vs Oviedo (Sunday, 3.15pm)
Leaders Barcelona are a perfect nine from nine at home in LaLiga and, having racked up 25 goals, should make light work of rock-bottom Oviedo.
Three of Barca’s last five home wins have ended 3-1 and Oviedo look set to be the Catalans' next victims.
Score Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Oviedo
Real Sociedad vs Celta Vigo (Sunday, 5.30pm)
These are two in-form teams but only Barca and Real Madrid have been more prolific on the road than Celta Vigo, who have picked up 18 points in nine away games.
Sociedad blow hot and cold and Celta can grind out victory.
Score Prediction: Real Sociedad 0-1 Celta Vigo
Alaves vs Real Betis (Sunday, 8pm)
Alaves find themselves third bottom but they are tough to topple at home, where they have lost just three times in 12 outings.
Real Betis have drawn seven of their ten away games, though, and are plucky.
Score Prediction: Alaves 1-1 Real Betis
Girona vs Getafe (Monday, 8pm)
Girona are one of La Liga’s form teams at present and, having won four of their last five outings, Getafe look set to struggle.
The visitors have lost six of their last seven and find goals hard to come by.
Score Prediction: Girona 2-0 Getafe.
