FC Barcelona will formally mark Pedro Rodríguez’s retirement with a farewell event at Spotify Camp Nou on Friday, 9 October. The 39-year-old former forward announced his retirement from football on Wednesday, prompting the Catalan club to arrange a public goodbye that recognises his years in the first team.

Marca reported on 7 October 2026 that the event would take place on Friday morning. The publication also reported that Barcelona had posted several messages about Pedro on its official social-media profiles after his announcement, thanking him for his contribution to the club and to football.

Pedro made 321 appearances for Barcelona’s first team across all competitions, scoring 99 goals and providing 61 assists. He represented the club from the 2007-08 season through the 2015-16 season, and earned 65 caps for Spain during his international career.

The Friday ceremony will give Barcelona a chance to acknowledge a substantial contribution on the pitch. Pedro’s totals of 99 goals and 61 assists reflect the attacking output he delivered across nine seasons with the first team, while his Spain appearances underline the standing he reached beyond club football.

His honours with the Blaugranes include three Champions League titles, two Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, five league titles, three Copa del Rey trophies and four Spanish Super Cups. Barcelona’s farewell comes after a career that also took Pedro to Chelsea, Lazio and Roma, following his time at the Catalan club.

Barcelona’s social-media response presented Pedro as a lasting part of the club’s history and expressed gratitude for what he gave both the team and the game. Another post described him as a legend, according to Marca’s report, as the club acknowledged his retirement and prepared to host him at Spotify Camp Nou.
