The Santiago Bernabeu witnessed home side Real Madrid pull off a rather easy victory against RB Leipzig in the third match of the UEFA Champions League.

The defence maintained their shape, while the midfield kept the game ticking, and it was only a matter of time before the attackers showed their class.

This victory would give Real Madrid much-needed confidence heading into the El Clasico over the weekend.

That being said, here is how the Real Madrid players fared against RB Leipzig.

Player ratings

Thibaut Courtois – 7.5/10

The Belgian shot-stopper was at his best on the night, but was unfortunate not to have a clean sheet to his name. Made a couple of stunning saves in the first half.

Fede Valverde – 8.0/10

Playing as a makeshift right-back, the Uruguayan had a brilliant outing as he remained a continuous attacking threat, evident from the 3 key passes and 1 big chance he created. Fede also made 4 tackles and 5 clearances.

Antonio Rudiger – 7.0/10

Made 3 recoveries, a couple of clearances and a successful tackle. Was troubled by the pacy Leipzig attack early in the match but held his own for the remaining minutes.

Dean Huijsen – 7.0/10

Despite being beaten by the Leipzig attack on occasion, the Spaniard recorded 7 interceptions and 3 clearances.

Álvaro Carreras – 7.0/10

Won 4 out of 7 ground duels and made 4 defensive contributions overall. Combined well with wingers at times but was unable to offer much on the attacking front.

Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10

He became just the 2nd Portuguese since Cristiano Ronaldo to score for Real Madrid. 89 touches in the match and kept his cool when being pressed by Leipzig. An overall good outing for the experienced player.

Eduardo Camavinga – 8.0/10

The Frenchman made his 3rd start for Los Blancos this season and had his best outing so far. 65/71 passes completed, 3/3 successful dribbles and made 4 tackles as well.

Arda Guler – 9.0/10

Guler continues to show how important he is to this Madrid side with yet another magical performance. 2 key passes, scored off an Mbappe assist, 74 touches and completed all his dribbles.

Jude Bellingham – 7.5/10

Despite not being involved in either of the goals, Jude remained a constant threat in the box and tried scoring one out of nowhere. 4 key passes, 1 big chance created, and 85% passing success. An outing he would be pleased with.

Vinicius Junior – 7.0/10

A rather better outing for him but still not the level he usually operates at. Had a chance to score an absolute banger but was denied by the Leipzig keeper. Did not make a single dribble.

Kylian Mbappe – 8.0/10

Another day, another Mbappe Champions League goal? Not a surprise at all. Scored his 12th goal of the season and earlier in the match assisted Arda Guler as well. A good day at the office for the Frenchman.

Substitutes

Marc Cucurella – 6.0/10

Completed 17/18 passes, won an aerial duel and made a recovery. The game was already done and dusted when he came on so he did not have to do much anyways.

Yan Diomande – 8.0/10

Talk about making an immediate impact, eh? Assisted Mbappe and then scored an outrageous volley to seal the deal for Real Madrid. Even made a key pass. Sensational start to his run at the club so far.

Brahim Diaz – 6.5/10

Recorded an assist and a key pass. Made the most of the 12 minutes offered to him.

Endrick – N/A

The Brazilian had just 6 touches and a key pass, but was not enough to warrant a rating.

Carlos Espi – N/A

Struck a shot at goal and even threatened to score, but this was not enough to warrant a rating.
