The last two seasons did not go exactly as planned for Real Madrid, as they were unable to win any major trophy, and saw their bitter rivals, FC Barcelona, dominate in Spain. Neither Carlo Ancelotti nor Xabi Alonso or Alvaro Arbeloa were able to put the Merengue team back on track and all of them had to pay dearly for their failures.

However, there were still some players who performed at a very high level. One of these was clearly the forward Kylian Mbappe, who was the top scorer both in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season. Similarly, Thibaut Courtois also remained a highly reliable last man in defense, making crucial saves throughout the season.

The performances of these players have now been recognized at the highest level, as Mundo Deportivo reports that four Real Madrid players are in the 26-man shortlist for the 2026 FIFPro World 11. These players are Thibaut Courtois, Marc Cucurella, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe.

In addition to having a good season with the Merengue team, Courtois, Bellingham, and Mbappe also had very good World Cup campaigns. In fact, Mbappe won the Golden Boot and became the highest scorer in the history of the tournament, while Bellingham was the highest scorer for England.

Cucurella joined Los Blancos right before the start of the World Cup, and remained a key part of Luis de la Fuente’s side that ended up winning the competition. All of these four players are now also playing at a very high level for Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid.

The FIFPro World 11 will be announced on Monday, 9 November, and 19,806 professional footballers from 73 countries will vote for this list. Hopefully, all of these Real Madrid players will end up in the final eleven, but they will have to compete with 22 other players who also had a very good last year.
